Questions, answered straight

What do I need to run Appwright?

A Mac on macOS 14 or newer, and Xcode — Apple's free developer tools — installed from the App Store. Appwright checks your setup on first launch and walks you through anything missing.

Do I actually own the code?

Yes, entirely. Every app is a standard Xcode project saved to your disk. You can open it in Xcode, put it in git, hand it to a developer, or ship it. If you cancel your plan, everything you built stays yours.

What kind of apps can it build?

It's strongest at focused utility apps — trackers, timers, journals, calculators, lists, small games. It builds real multi-screen apps with saved data. It won't build a social network with a backend on day one, and we'd rather tell you that here than after you've paid.

Can I put my app on the App Store?

Yes. You'll need your own Apple Developer account ($99/yr, paid to Apple) to submit. Appwright gives you the finished Xcode project; from there, archive and upload like any iOS app.

Do I need my own AI account or API key?

No. Generation runs through Appwright's service and is metered in credits — that's what your plan buys. No keys to manage, no separate AI bill.

Who can see my prompts and code?

Your prompts and generated code pass through Appwright's generation service to build your app, and the finished code lives only on your Mac. We don't use your prompts or your apps to train models, and we don't share them.

What happens if a build fails?

Appwright catches build errors and fixes them itself as part of the same run — that's normal, and you can watch it happen in the transcript. If a run still can't finish, the credits it used are spent, but the per-build spend cap stops any run from running away, and checkpoints mean your last good version is never lost.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, anytime, from inside the app. Unused credit-pack credits keep working, and every app you built stays on your Mac — cancelling never takes anything away from you.

How do credits work?

Every generation run — a new app or a change — uses credits based on the actual AI work it took, and the app shows the number on every run. A new app is about 11 credits; small changes are 3–6. Plan credits refill monthly; credit packs never expire.

Your first app is 15 free credits away.
